Report: VA hospital in D.C. putting ‘patients at unnecessary risk’

( CNN) The Department of Veterans Affairs’ inspector general adds rules at the Washington VA Medical Center are putting “patients at useless peril, ” and the VA has removed the director of research hospitals from its own position, ascribing him to temporary administrative duties.

A report out Wednesday heightened several regards related to staffing shortfalls, soiled storage areas and failure to keep track of medical gear, leading to shortfalls that could endanger patient health.

The report recognized 18 grimy infertile storage areas out of 25 reviewed at the medical centre, and found that more than $150 million in gear has not been able to been inventoried or accounted for in the past time, which led to medical procedures being canceled or delayed.
