New video of United flight shows passenger was hardly ‘belligerent’ before he was dragged away
After a passenger was dragged off a United Airlines flight on Sunday, the CEO responded with a company memo that described “the mens” as “disruptive and belligerent.”
New video of the moments before David Dao was “re-accommodated” from his set been demonstrated that “belligerent” is not a word most people would use to describe him.
“I am a doctor, I have to work tomorrow, ” Dao suggested as policemen stood at the edge of his row. One man told Dao they’d have to “drag” him off the plane, and Dao suggested alright then, that’s what you’ll have to do.
The interaction is certainly confrontational, but it’s not like Dao is hollering and shouting at other fares, and it’s certainly not as confrontational as what was about to happen.
One thing is for sure: This isn’t going to help United CEO Oscar Munoz solve his massive PR problem.
