Americans back the Syria bombing. They’re much more divided on what comes next

,

( CNN) Nearly six in 10 Americans approve of President Donald Trump’s decision to strike at a Syrian air base from which substance affects were propelled last week, according to a new CBS News national referendum.

But that’s where consensus — or even the impression of consensus — terminates. When motivated with four rivalling options about what the United States should do next , none of the quartet get more than 30 percent support from the public.

Three in 10 have indicated that they require airstrikes but no grind troops as a follow-up bar to last week’s missile launchings. Twenty-six percent require only diplomatic talks, while 18 percent praise the use of grind troops and 15 percent wishing no more US involvement at all.
